AEO/GEO for B2C: connect visibility with customer decisions

A consumer-facing brand needs useful and accurate answers, not simply more mentions. AEO/GEO work examines how AI search presents the brand, which sources it cites and whether it explains the offer appropriately. The resulting plan should tell the business what to improve, who owns the change and how it will be reviewed.

The common process applies across industries, but customer needs and product facts differ. Insurance exclusions cannot be treated like ecommerce delivery conditions. Store availability is different from online availability. A banking application and a retail purchase have different completion events.

These are illustrative planning personas. Actual topics should reflect the organisation’s priorities and available customer evidence. Keep discovery, comparison and action questions distinct, and do not combine branded checks with unbranded recommendation measures.

Establish offer truth

Create an approved fact set covering the offer, audience, version or effective date, important conditions and exceptions. Identify who can approve the interpretation. Then compare observed AI claims with those facts and retain the answer, relevant passage and source.

A cited page may not support the exact claim. A local listing may not establish product stock. An outdated product page may explain why a condition appears, but does not prove the source caused the answer. Each finding needs a clear evidence status and a reviewer.

Keep online and local information distinct

Retail programmes should distinguish browsing, online ordering, collection and visiting a store. Ecommerce content should clarify variants and purchase conditions. Insurance and banking content should identify the appropriate next enquiry or application step.

The method can be adapted to telecom, travel and utilities through their own plan conditions, booking rules or service areas. This is methodological suitability, not a statement that every sector integration is already deployed.

A useful brief contains the customer question, target page, missing answer, approved source, proposed structure, owner, acceptance check and remeasurement condition. It turns a finding into reviewable work instead of asking an editor to infer the facts.

Organise the business response

Marketing prioritises the topics; product or category owners approve facts; web and channel teams implement agreed changes; analytics defines follow-up. Google’s AI-search guidance retains normal SEO requirements rather than a special AI schema. This applies specifically to its AI Overviews and AI Mode. Google Search Central

Mentions, citations, visits and business outcomes remain separate measures. An ecommerce order, store transaction, insurance enquiry and banking application require their own definitions and attribution evidence. Citation counts alone do not establish sales or conversions.

HolistiCRM’s approach

Our completed GINOP agent is configured to connect selected measurements with source checks, expert interpretation and tailored reporting. Our team draws on 21+ years of expert AI-development experience and 136+ varied AI/ML models. This includes custom-model development and task-specific fine-tuning; it does not mean 136 foundation LLMs.

We preserve actual roles in our references and do not turn earlier AI/analytics work into unproven AEO success claims. Changes need comparable measurement, and we do not guarantee recommendations.
