Top 5 AEO tools for B2C enterprises: a practical comparison
Our enterprise shortlist is Profound, Conductor, Semrush Enterprise AIO, Peec AI and Scrunch. Banks, insurers, retailers, ecommerce businesses and other large consumer brands can use it to plan a focused evaluation. Each connects AI-search measurement with a different operational strength. The right choice depends on your questions, markets, content process and access to usable evidence.
AEO, or Answer Engine Optimisation, helps organisations understand and improve how their information appears in answer engines. GEO, or Generative Engine Optimisation, addresses related visibility and interpretation in generated answers. These tools can show mentions, recommendations, citations and opportunities for action. Their measurements do not automatically use the same definitions.
We selected this Top 5 for enterprise evaluation using publicly documented measurement coverage, evidence access, segmentation and the connection between findings and content or technical work. The order is editorial, not a performance ranking. We have not run a controlled comparative trial of these platforms, and this article does not establish accuracy in a particular market or sector-specific approval.
A banking product question, an insurance coverage question and an in-stock shopping question require different evidence. Brand mention tracking alone does not establish product-variant recognition, store-level accuracy or inventory freshness. The shortlist remains the same; the acceptance tests change with the business.

| Tool | Where we would start evaluating it | Documented operational strength | Essential pilot question |
|---|---|---|---|
| Profound | Enterprise measurement, consumer-brand content and shopping evaluation | Answer analysis, source-of-truth checks, content agents and Shopping | Can the plan export evidence, support your market and distinguish brand from product visibility? |
| Conductor | Established B2C SEO, product/category content and search operations | Connected AI-search, SEO, content creation and enterprise workflow | Which engines, prompts and site/content datasets are included in the contracted tier? |
| Semrush Enterprise AIO | Teams joining AI visibility with site and analytics work | Brand, product and market views with content/site recommendations | What exact response-level evidence and API entitlement can be delivered? |
| Peec AI | Prompt-led B2C marketing and a scoped ChatGPT shopping pilot | Daily monitoring, action queues, content drafts and product-level Shopping | Does the account expose the required models, catalog matching, exports and publishing controls? |
| Scrunch | Teams examining answers alongside website accessibility | Monitoring, page audits and optional agent-content delivery | Can the required engine provide citations, and does any delivery change preserve approved facts? |
The “where we would start” column is HolistiCRM’s interpretation of product fit. It is not a claim that one vendor is objectively best for every organisation.
1. Profound: measurement and configurable content operations
Profound documents visibility, sentiment, citation and competitor analysis alongside content-agent templates and a custom builder. Its Fact Check feature compares extracted claims with a brand source of truth, which makes it relevant to teams that need to investigate how products are represented. Profound features, Fact Check documentation
The vendor describes collection from consumer answer-engine experiences rather than substituting model API responses. Enterprise coverage, language/region settings and CSV, JSON or API access differ materially from the limited trial. Confirm the configuration in the order form. Collection description, plans and access
For approved product information, a useful pilot is a source-linked claim investigation: can an analyst trace a flagged statement to the original answer, cited page and approved fact? Profound’s Plaid and Ramp stories provide financial-services ecosystem context; those cases concern fintech businesses. Plaid case, Ramp case
For retail and ecommerce, its Shopping module documents product placement and merchant analysis in ChatGPT Shopping. Test catalog matching, variant handling and the observation timestamp. These capabilities do not establish live stock or offer synchronisation. Shopping
The Estée Lauder Companies announced a global Profound partnership in September 2026 covering its beauty-brand portfolio and content operations. Profound also publishes a Coterie shopping-feature testimonial. The first is a partnership announcement and the second a product-use statement; neither supplies a transferable uplift forecast. These are vendor references, separate from HolistiCRM’s experience. Estée Lauder announcement, Coterie testimonial
2. Conductor: connected SEO, AI search and content workflow
Conductor links AI-search performance with a broader enterprise search and content platform. It documents topic, persona and intent analysis, citation evidence, competitor views and recommendations that connect to its content tools. ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews are explicitly described on its AI-search product page. AI Search Performance
Its Data API and MCP capabilities support external reporting and analysis, subject to the actual entitlement and supported datasets. Its documentation describes API-first collection where possible, so retain collection method and engine mode when comparing outputs with a consumer-interface sample. Developer access, collection method
Conductor publishes a Citi case involving SEO, content and analytics. That is relevant banking delivery history; it should not be recast as a measured Citi AEO deployment. Citi customer story
A separate Zurich Insurance UK case describes reviewing AI citations for contextual relevance. Title Nine’s retail/ecommerce case documents category-content work and AI-search reporting. Overdrive demonstrates Data API/MCP use in agency reporting. These are different delivery contexts, with results attributed to Conductor’s published cases. Zurich UK, Title Nine, Overdrive
For a B2C pilot, test the journey from an identified customer question to an approved product or category brief and an export the organisation can retain. Store/location data and fast-changing catalog facts need their own validation.
3. Semrush Enterprise AIO: AI visibility alongside site and analytics work
Semrush Enterprise AIO describes brand mentions, citations, sentiment, product and market views, competitor benchmarking, and content/site recommendations. It also presents GA4 and Adobe context. That combination is worth evaluating where AI-search work needs to connect with an existing enterprise SEO operating model. Enterprise AIO
Keep Enterprise AIO separate from the standard AI Visibility Toolkit: engines, usage and integration rights are not interchangeable. A public FAQ directs buyers to discuss AI-visibility API access with sales. That supports an integration inquiry, not a promise that every subscription supplies every raw answer. Semrush API FAQ
Semrush publishes a Hertz Iceland Enterprise AIO case on travel queries, cited sources and content changes. Its LG and Samsung cases describe consumer-electronics search operations and custom reporting; their reported SEO outcomes should keep that label. Bajaj Finserv is a financial-services SEO reference. Hertz Iceland, LG, Samsung, Bajaj Finserv
A B2C pilot should establish the exact engines, languages, markets, source links, response-level exports and joinable identifiers before automation is designed. For a product catalog, demonstrate recognition of the correct item and variant; for a location-based service, demonstrate the actual market and location.
4. Peec AI: prompt-level evidence, actions and content review
Peec AI documents daily answer monitoring, source analysis, competitor views and visibility, position and sentiment measures. Peec documents user-interface scraping; for most platforms, model and search selection follow the logged-out experience. Record those conditions instead of assuming equivalence with a logged-in user or a fixed model API. Peec methodology and overview
The product includes owned, earned and technical action queues, plus content optimisation with editable drafts and exports. Some publishing and editing capabilities are account-enabled. This makes it more than a monitoring dashboard, while still leaving approval and integration questions for the client’s actual setup. Actions, content optimisation
Peec’s AI Shopping documentation describes product-level matching against tracked ChatGPT answers, plus catalog-versus-mentioned price comparison. It documents catalog imports from a public Shopify feed, CSV or Google Merchant Center feed. Confirm account access, variant matching and refresh behaviour; a catalog import does not prove live inventory synchronisation. Shopping scope, product fields, catalog imports
Enterprise API access and SAML SSO are separately documented. Test evidence export, draft review and the boundary between recommendation and publication. Its Momentum case is a software reference; a measured retail or insurance customer outcome was not established in this review. Example brands in dashboards or analysis articles are not established customer references. API, SSO, Momentum
5. Scrunch: answers, page accessibility and controlled delivery
Scrunch combines monitoring, page audits, optimisation and an optional Agent Experience Platform. Its help lists nine answer-engine surfaces, with plan-dependent coverage. Grok citation data is explicitly unavailable even though other measures are supported. Supported platforms, product capabilities
AXP can serve an agent-focused version of site content. B2C organisations should evaluate semantic parity with approved public information, change control and rollback before deploying that infrastructure. The review should include insurance exclusions, banking conditions, store details and time-sensitive product information where relevant. How AXP serves content
Scrunch publishes an Akamai AXP case in cloud/security technology and publicly lists Lenovo and Skims among its customers. Those consumer-brand associations are useful procurement leads, but the reviewed source does not provide individual catalog or retail-store accuracy outcomes for them. Akamai case, public customer list
Ask the vendor to demonstrate the relationship between aggregated metrics and response-level records, plus the contracted API and identity controls. Public plan descriptions have shown inconsistent labels, so use a current order form rather than an old comparison’s tier names.
Other AEO tools worth comparing
The Top 5 is a starting point. OtterlyAI offers focused monitoring, audits, recommendations and CSV workflows. Ayzeo documents persona/tag segmentation and enterprise reporting. Nimt combines monitoring with agent tasks and MCP access. Geolix.ai combines managed GEO work with a documented beta API/MCP option. WebCEO supplies established SEO/reporting capabilities and public evidence of AI-search reporting; the exact AEO response fields need inspection. NIOS is an early-access candidate whose public specifications remain limited.
See the extended AEO tool comparison for their evidence status and selection questions. A tool’s inclusion does not imply a partnership with HolistiCRM or a completed integration.
| Sector | Decision-critical facts | Pilot acceptance test |
|---|---|---|
| Banking | Eligibility, fees, conditions and exceptions from approved, dated product information | A reviewer can trace each checked claim to the valid fact and identify omissions. |
| Insurance | Coverage, exclusions, limits, eligibility and claims steps from the approved policy version | The answer preserves the relevant exclusions and distinguishes general explanation from a product-specific promise. |
| Retail and store networks | Correct branch, address, opening hours, local services and dated local offers | Test specified locations; keep store accuracy separate from national brand visibility. |
| Ecommerce | Exact product/variant, specifications, stated price, availability, delivery and returns | Compare the observed answer with a timestamped catalog/page snapshot; inspect price and stock separately. |
| Travel, telecom and other consumer services | Market, location, package eligibility, service scope and cancellation conditions | Test the named market/service context using an approved source snapshot. |
For questions about current conditions, stale facts are an accuracy failure even when they were valid historically. Identify whether the cause is an expired source or an unsupported assertion. No generic citation dashboard is a substitute for checking these facts.
What a B2C enterprise pilot should establish
- The questions and personas. Include consumer research and purchase/service journeys as well as marketing, product/category and procurement decisions; separate branded, unbranded, informational and recommendation intent.
- Comparable conditions. Record engine, mode, language, country, date, repetition and failed runs. Keep API and consumer-interface evidence distinct.
- Source and claim traceability. Retain the answer, citation, relevant source passage and approved product fact. Citation and correctness are separate measures.
- Actionable output. Require a brief with a target page, missing answer, approved evidence, owner and acceptance check.
- Usable data and controls. Demonstrate exports, access rights, retention, identity controls and the actual contractual/data-processing setup.
- A follow-up design. Remeasure comparable question cells after documented changes. A new mention is not automatically an attributable business result.
Different vendors can report different native “visibility” percentages for the same brand because their denominators differ. Preserve native metrics and calculate any common measure only from sufficient, comparable response-level evidence. A combined report should explain the difference rather than average incompatible scores.
How HolistiCRM adds value around the tools
HolistiCRM combines documented banking experience, SEO/AEO analysis and custom AI development. For each B2C assignment, we configure the questions, approved fact sources and reporting around that organisation’s sector and operating process. Our completed GINOP AEO/GEO agent supplies the base for client-specific tuning. Selected vendor outputs can inform that workflow after access, permitted use and data quality have been validated.
Our work connects the answer to the source, the source to a reviewed finding, and the finding to an executable brief. Marketing receives a priority; product owners receive a claim to review; procurement receives evidence of the agreed delivery. The benefit comes from the client-specific method, expert judgement and reporting configuration. More tools alone do not prove a better outcome.
Discuss an AEO tool pilot and a custom reporting workflow. Start with the evidence and decisions your team needs, then choose the configuration that can deliver them.
